Pros

Best reasons to work at EA? None.

Cons

- HR is horrible and they don't listen to you. - Some managers will literally yell at you and embarrass you in front of everyone. - Only those who suck up will thrive in EA's work environment - Unorganized - Culture & values are non-existent - Did I mention that HR sucks and will just ignore you? - Oh, and they make the worst video games in the world

Pros

Good extended health benefits. Relaxed dress-code. Nice co-workers (excluding management and executives).

Cons

No job security. Misogynistic environment - not a lot of room for women to move up. Less respect for women, and we aren't taken seriously in general. Had to put up with constant abuse from managers, with HR just taking the side of higher ups, despite evidence of harassment and bullying. Constant turnover, not a lot of consistency, even with hardworking good employees. Many talented-hardworking employees want to stay in the company, but are caught in the cycle of 1 year contracts. Lots of re-training and loss of morale due to good people leaving the company/team. Lots of overtime and work from home is expected. Low pay for anyone under Executive levels. Anyone in higher up levels are compensated very well, but lower levels are under the average studio rates.

Pros

Near where I live, bonus at the end of the year, possible to work from home. Games can be cheap to buy.

Cons

If the management (who take 0 risks most of the time from fear), end up late on a software deliverable, they will seek out the weakest link in the development team and very aggressively apportion all blame. I've worked there twice, and I've been in meetings where "who is taking this one" has been discussed. You would not believe how this place works inside. It's full of cowards, be prepared to high five all the right people and you will get on fine. Speak up against bad decisions, or bad planning and you will be out the next time they need a scapegoat.
