Pros

Good salary and decent bonus

Cons

Activision is run by two types of employees: "Two years and out" developers – They execute Jira tasks like a prototype jam, hacking away without concern for long-term stability. Their philosophy? "There’s a bug? Why fix it when you can just tweak every reported issue? You won’t be around for the next Call of Duty anyway." "20-year Activision veterans" – Experts at masking problems rather than solving them. Their approach? "Players complain the game is 180GB? Just hide the real download size—next COD is 250GB!" Lessons from your survived colleagues: - Avoid the latest – You'll fight to make it run, nobody will care about "your problem" - Never modify existing code – Duplicate, tweak, and leave the original untouched. - Stay on middle management’s good side – They may not understand the tech, but they control hiring and firing.

Pros

Passionate coworkers, great for building your portfolio, a lot of fun events at Blizzard HQ.

Cons

Layoffs every six months or so. Everybody is always waiting for the ball to drop. I’ve seen people get let go right after being hired, and others get let go after decades.
