Pros
Extra Space has been an absolute pleasure to work for. My District Manager Juan has been extremely supportive along with the DTL's Jaime, Mary and Jon Q. They have taught me so much and continue to help whenever I need it. The last 6 months have been hard due to my cancer treatment but anything I struggled with or needed I was able to immediately get from someone on this amazing team. I know I can pick up the phone and call anyone and get the answer I'm looking for if I don't know it and cant find it in sharepoint. Being promoted to site manager so soon shows me that there is always room to grow with this company which is an incentive to work hard and keep learning and growing and thankfully I am able to do so with the amazing team I work with.
Cons
There is a lot of drama and politics behind the scene. I have witnessed Employees intentionally trying to get others in trouble when we should be a team. Things like that are a little discouraging because you want to believe that everyone is a team player and are moving with good intentions. I feel as if we should always be lifting each other up and supportive of one another. That is what makes a great team. Also ESS should really supply winter jackets and gloves if we are expected to shovel and salt outside in this freezing weather. People who are hired in the summer and spring are not thinking about the winter and the coats and gloves are pricey, Its hard to order a coat and have enough left over for shirts. and an extra space hoody would be awesome. Staying open until 6 is a killer. Most of us are coming from an hour or so away. Its really cruddy that I don't get home to my kids until 7 then I still have to cook dinner. The days just feel very long even when they fly by. I just wish I had more time to spend with my kiddos.
