Illusion that you'll have space to grow. Years of hard work that was only recognized with "we appreciate a lot your contributions" and no real promotion. They preferred to open new positions than upgrade people who was there. Even with a lot of compliments from the team and management no real recognition. You get anxious and start to wonder what's wrong with you that your career doesn't matter even though everyone on the team appreciates your work. Awful offboarding, no respect for years of friendship with the team, little to no support on getting to move on and no explanation other than "we're going through changes". When I went through personal changes I still respected my job and position but that's clearly not a two way road.
