Pros

Great people...well, most of them. Most of the people that work here are smart, fun, and down-to-earth. It's also a great experience working on such high volume sites using cutting edge technologies and skills. Hands down a very skilled group of people.

Cons

Management is sneaky. It's very unsettling when people just disappear, company adjustments are made without communication, and everything is kept "hush hush". Many of the leads and senior employee's treat others in a dismissive and un-humble manner. Projects are promised to clients with unrealistic time frames. I understand that the client gets what they want but really, there needs to be a line. Making your employees suffer to make a client happy is no way to operate successfully long term. That is actually my biggest con; overworking your employees. There is also a fair amount of favoritism that goes on. Many people advance and/or are given responsibilities when they should not be and do so because they are under the wing of a string puller. I have also head of overtime bonuses having been given out to selected people.

Pros

A technology company so far behind that there is always interesting projects going on. In the past year executive leadership seems to have some focus and it does not feel like organization ADD. Benefits are very competitive.

Cons

A very consistent pattern of RIF's every few months. It is interesting that it is not always the lower performers, be very careful expressing an opinion for progress to middle management or you will very likely find yourself on the next RIF list. This is a management team that thinks they know it all. There are very few examples of leaders in this group, most are bosses, will make sure to tell you how to do the job. If you are coming in make sure to get a very good understanding of the expectation of role and responsibilities. If you are skilled you will be taken advantage of and asked to contribute at higher grade levels but performance and advancement is very subjective and there is no transparency in organizations like IT about what it takes to move to next levels. Unless of course you are playing that middle management stroking feathers game right..
