Pros
The people! (Almost) everybody I worked with was absolutely wonderful. Of course, there was the odd exception, but they do exist everywhere. The teams in the hotel were very close and there was little to no drama. The company is flexible to send you to a different location for task force assignments and supportive if you want to develop further in your career. All in all, I really loved my time there.
Cons
Salary - as with so many places. Just by switching to a job in the Middle East I was able to double (almost triple) my West-European salary. There were a lot of promotions that didn't seem to make sense; unexperienced people taking a management role of a department they knew nothing about. Other competent people were expected to make concessions in salary and title for an unreasonably long period of time. At some point the hotel had no managers, but only "assistant" managers - same responsibility but less salary.
