Pros

- People are generally very nice. Colleagues are supportive. - The work can be meaningful at times. - The Glenview facility is nice. The buildings have many enormous windows. Although the furnishings are somewhat dated, maintenance is thorough. There is a wooded walking trail. - The company is basically financially stable--an important attribute during this period of economic uncertainty.

Cons

- Long hours. - Unreasonable expectations by senior management. - Staff is somewhat discouraged by the ever increasing scope of projects, decreasing timeframes, and decreasing staff levels coupled with upper management’s enthusiastic voicing of the mantra "efficiency and accountability." - As of March 2009 Pearson Education continues on an going 2+ year reorganization coupled with seemingly random layoffs and department eliminations. The reorganization has "been near the end" for 18 months.

Pros

From home and relaxed working environment

Cons

They never know when the project will end or start so you can’t line up other work. Projected end 16th and we end 10 days early? Thats a lot of wages now I don’t have.
