Pros
Before Charter acquired Time Warner Cable (TWC), work life was pretty decent and laid back. The great culture of TWC was ingrained in every employee, especially to those who have been with the company for more than 10 years. Most managers trust their team to work and complete projects.
Cons
When Charter took over, the best ride of the work life ceased and went from good to bad. It really showed that Charter didn't know handle the merger. There was lack of planning and handling of current issues and transition. Most TWC were left in the dark and complete silence on where things are going. Even after almost a year of merger, the transition is still lacking. Communication is terrible, especially since most managers are in the Colorado area and the engineering team are in Virginia. There are many orphaned projects and devices. HR is overwhelmed and new hires take a long time before they get in the system. Most of those "lucky ones" who get hired and taken in the system, their first day is served with no laptop and no work space. Btw, this is not a company that relies on new technologies. Be prepared to work and maintain on very old and legacy devices. You will be bound on maintenances that run from midnight until 6 AM, depending on the region. Maintenances are a sign that management doesn't understand the clustered or HA technology that the servers run on.
