I reported to an individual with no true leadership experience only a small stint as a supervisor. He was more concerned with his appearance to the SVP than anyone that reported below him. It was important that he received credit for all success within the team and that he had someone to blame if required.
Through the years there were many promises of how my contributions would be recognized, but none came to fruition. His comparison and trying to empathize was that he did not receive “two promotions in 6 months.”
