Pros

You will learn a lot at Unilever; financials, customer engagement, global markets, time management, resilience and the list goes on.

Cons

I've literally watched people cry week after week due to overwork and a lack of support. We have a huge level of turnover. The culture is one where we need someone to blame for mistakes and it's normally pointed downward and micromanagement is ridiculous. I think the most concerning part for me is how we are so incredibly profit driven but communicate both internally and externally that we are 'purpose lead'. Here are some examples; we've outsourced multiple functions which is massively impacting our business efficiency, we've made people redundant who have been loyal for years, we've closed the Weis factory in Toowoomba after buying it from the Weis family in 2017 and stating in the sale we would keep the factory there ongoing (google it). We've got one brand that is suggesting it's purpose is around supporting womens self esteem (Dove), yet we have another one that has been objectifying women for years (Lynx)... we say we are all about sustainability but according to Amnesty international we consume unsustainable palm oil which also uses child labour (google it).

Under resourced and underpaid for the skills I bring to the table, which contributes to retention issues

Pros

It is a large company with a record of 3 years without a recordable injury. Occasionally feeds the employees

Cons

The biggest issue with this plant and it invades every aspect of the company is a complete lack of ability to properly communicate information. The applies internal to departments, across departments and up and down. They have the technology to do it, just not the organization. Company could probably use much more Engineering organization.
