Pros

You have an opportunity to shape your work; The worse people I work with are better than the average at any other place I would consider; Nice pay and excellent health; Interesting work that is moderately rewarding.

Cons

I have heard that your boss shapes your experience. I think that those disinclined to control their own commitments will struggle (i.e. the ability to say NO is important). Is this something that will make you happy as a career? I'm not sure my answer is yes.

Low crime rate, amazing schools, lots of young crowd due to Epic and UW. -> Lot of freedom work wise. -> Can get to managerial position very quickly compare to other firms

Cons

-> Core server back end runs on database which many people do not like to work with -> No work from home options -> Software Development life cycle is very long

Great Opportunities

Pros

You will get the opportunity to build up a lot of valuable skills within the tech industry you may have missed out on in College. Heavy emphasis on usability is an emerging and necessary trend within healthcare which Epic takes seriously.

Cons

You will be asked to work hard. If you've never worked a 40-hour per week job in your life, you may have a tougher time when deadlines come around.
