Pros

- Great Campus and you either get an individual or shared office - Cafeteria has lots of good options for lunch - Salary is pretty good for a midwest location - Most of the coworkers are brilliant

Cons

- As a developer, you are required to write most of your code in VB6 which is broken and outdated - Some of the older folks can be condescending - Too much emphasis on process to push even a small change to production which can get frustrating - The training is overkill

Pros

Great starting salary out of college especially for LIberal Arts students with great GPAs; Tough work, alot of hours prepare you for the "real world" after Epic; amazing food and campus PERFECT job for a year or two

Cons

Employees are taken for granted; high floor, LOW ceiling for salary; CEO and board members are passionate and create a great product but are NOT business minded people who could care less about profit, making money and efficiency; little Work Life balance (madison is too small) This company is too cultish

Pros

Epic provides a unique workplace environment. You work along side some of the brightest people in the nation and world at a relatively unknown (we don't advertise & are private) top healthcare software company. The offices are gorgeous, along with the campus. Dining on campus is also a real treat, with an ever changing menu, great chefs, and fresh ingredients.

Cons

You do need to work hard (not necessarily long hours). The demands of the job are much like others in the field. If you are quick to learn, dynamic, and enjoy challenges, you will do well.
