Pros

Being able to utilize the facility, networking with members

Cons

High pressure to perform immediately, stereotypical sales culture - cut-throat, at any cost, pressure from management, high turnover, unsympathetic to your circumstances (results and performance come first), very low salary, do little to help sales team get leads.

Pros

Friendly people, free gym membership to the best facility in the city, management listens and does their best within a corporate environment, co-workers are supportive and fun to be around. The GM and AGMs are fantastic. I see people who have complained about Equinox, and all I can say is that those who don't want to work, who want a free pass or to just do the minimum, don't make it here. I've seen promotions, raises and advancement for many team members who deserved it. While Equinox is corporate, you learn to navigate it, finding where they are strict (usually makes sense) and where they give you a lot of leeway. I've been able to do things I never thought possible in a corporate environment. If you perform, they let you off the reigns. If you don't, prepare for some management attention - which is not to berate you, but figure out what you may be doing wrong so you can do better. If you can't see that it is in your interest to learn from people who know more, you don't belong here. Check attitudes at the door, be a team player, and success is yours.

Cons

Can be overly corporate at times, but usually makes sense. Having to clock out for a lunch break before 5 hours of work is annoying, but it is California law. Certain processes could be explained better as opposed to having to figure it out through trial and error. But when asking for help, it is readily given.

Pros

Awesome gym, a ton of equipment, hardly had to wait for machines when training clients

Cons

Management is the worst I've seen. Not competent at all. Favored their friends and gave all new members to their friends. Business model is terrible, having way more trainers than the demand served. Hardly anyone made any money there. Management's "solutions" centered around "try to get so-and-so to agree to a free session". Yeah, ok. This place could be amazing if they allowed the trainers to sustain enough clients to maintain a living, THEN bring on new trainers as the demand called for. It's the simple law of supply and demand.
