Pros

-Mid to senior management on syndicated research is generally attentive to everyday employee needs and creates an environment with work-life balance/minimizes stress as much as possible -Syndicated product fills some interesting niches especially when considering coverage of smaller, less developed countries -Although in decline since the pandemic, occasional interesting opportunities to interact with clients, at conferences and internal insights team meetings, do come up

Cons

-While their is a defined career progression path, it can seem arbitrary. Do we really need five steps before you become a people manager? Step up from analyst to senior analyst can feel like little more than a title change. Sense of progression is important. -Research methodology can be HIGHLY dubious. If I feel we don't have the ability to provide a reasonable estimate for a figure, why am I pushed to essentially guess? Client conversations/trade interviews were often held up as the linchpin of EMI's methodology and analysts are encouraged to chase them even though they often did not yield actionable information.

Pros

- Fine work-life balance, as other people have suggested it is common to be in from 8-4 or 9-5, and leave. - Fun coworkers, pretty young company. Culture that likes to have fun - Nice office in DT Chicago - Diversity and inclusion efforts seem to come from a good place. - Charitable culture

Cons

- Main market research product is just outdated and clunky. - Research methodology is a serious concern to many prospects and clients - Management sees their research as "premium" but the actual product does not justify prices - extremely difficult to sell main product and custom research - Career progression is ill-defined - Compensation, even including commissions, is WELL below average in both the market research industry and competitive companies also based in Chicago. - Most high-level employees (Director+) have been with company for a while - things are done because that's the way they've always been done

Pros

No pros... no professionalism... rude behavior while hr discussion , HR didn't disclose about the max compensation budget. while they shortlisted my candidature. Long term waited for the offer letter.

Cons

HR policy needs to improve, be professional, be transparent with employees to whom you are hiring, salary is very low with compared to the present market value.

Euromonitor Response

Good afternoon, and thank you for your feedback. At Euromonitor we follow a very specific process during our recruitment, especially when it comes to our Software Engineers. You applied for a Senior Software Engineer role, and upon the interviews being concluded by our Technical Leaders, we decided that your level of skill was more aligned with our Software Engineer role. We always look at what the right role for the candidate is and in this situation, we would have been happy to offer you a Software Engineer role. However, as this is a lower level than a Senior, the salary will also be lower as I'm sure you can understand. So this is where there was a mismatch in your expectations versus what we were willing to offer. I'm sure in years to come you will look back on this and understand the situation better. We once again thank you for your application and wish you the best in your future endeavours.
