FDM was genuinally one of the worst decisions I ever made.

Pros

The trainers seem to care. Content is ok, I guess.

Cons

They make you commit to 9 weeks unpaid training, which will invariably turn into 3 months waiting around. During which they will ensure you turn up to the office in your best clothes every day. They will feel no remorse that you were stupid enough to buy their recruitment pitch where you were promised you would be on site within 6 weeks, and ended up in a poor financial position as you had to pay for living expenses for this time. Whilst threatening you with a £20,000ish release clause. Some people may find this position rewarding, but in retrospect, giving away your wages for almost two years isn't worth it. They will show you many infographics online detailing just how perfect they are, but in reality it's just another company taking advantage of graduates and those leaving the forces. The account managers are treated like gods, they parade around knowing fine well that your future is in their hands. Plus they will only put the people they like forward for roles. The CEO/COO may well show up, and the day they do they will be treated as if the Queen is visiting.

Pros

Initial training was well supported and taught. The Instructors and office staff are supportive when approached. Most of the other trainees and beached consultants are friendly and happy to help out if needed. There is plenty of opportunities to study (up skill) in other areas. I trained as a Manual tester and during my period back in the office i sat in on the Developers course as well as several over courses. The ex forces team in the office were very supportive and helpful with any questions or problems that i have had. I personally think you get out of FDM what you are prepared to put in. After sitting in with the developers course i was placed as an Automated tester with a Blue chip company. The Sales team took in to account my preference to be close to my family and i was in the office longer than normal due to this even tho i had a couple of interviews out side of this area. I have received good support whilst placed and know that if i have any questions or problems i can contact the office anytime.

Cons

Salary is low and you have to be geo flexible in the UK
