Budget cuts disguised as "organisational change"

Pros

The only current good thing is the line management. They have been doing all they can to reduce the impact of the damage towards the employees.

Cons

Strategy becomes unclear when organisational change happens on a daily basis. You see entire teams being let go and the remaining employees have to overwork themselves to take care of the workload. Fingerpointing is common and it became an internal dispute to see who is fired first. Oftentimes senior Management know NOTHING about their teams and processes and their ideas are just not fit for the whole environment. The investments at the office came along with micromanagement on office attendance - not only by your own line manager but others as well.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, and for acknowledging the efforts of line managers in supporting their teams — that’s important to recognise. We understand that frequent change can feel destabilising, particularly when teams are adjusting to new ways of working or new structures. While organisational change is sometimes necessary to support growth and long term sustainability, we accept that how change is managed and communicated matters just as much as the change itself. We do not want our people to feel over burdened, uncertain or disconnected from decision making, and feedback like this reinforces the need to prioritise clarity, context and empathy as we evolve. On office attendance, our intention is not micromanagement. Flexibility remains a key part of how we work, and our hybrid approach is designed to balance the benefits of remote working with the value of collaboration, learning and connection when teams come together in person. We appreciate you sharing your experience — it helps inform how we continue to improve.

Pros

Flexibility, decent pay, and the people

Cons

There is too much red tape now and many unnecessary meetings. Resources not allocated the same across teams.

Thank you for sharing your experience and for recognising the flexibility, pay and people at Fastmarkets. As the company has grown, we’ve introduced more structure to support collaboration, consistency and scale. That said, we recognise that process and governance must always add value — not create unnecessary complexity or meeting overload. Your feedback on red tape, meetings and uneven resource allocation is well taken. These are areas we continue to actively review as part of improving how we work day to day and ensuring teams feel supported and empowered. Caring about colleagues as people is important to us, and feedback like this helps ensure we continue to strike the right balance between structure, agility and employee experience.

Pros

decent work-life balance, fairly flexible with in-office time. easy enough work flow

Cons

incredible amount of corporate lip service, loads of vague and nebulous explanations for their bad decision, which seem to be increasing steadily. clawing back of previously established norms that most people enjoyed because the CEO just woke up one day and decided he didn't like it. little room for upward mobility. salary could absolutely be higher. and God help you if you need a work visa, because if they DO provide you with one, they will ABSOLUTELY do a 180 with little notice.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand that organisational change can be difficult, and experiences of how decisions are made and communicated will differ. We regularly review our approach to ensure we provide as much clarity and consistency as possible while meeting business needs. We continue to focus on career development and fair pay, with regular reviews of progression and reward. Visa and global mobility matters can be complex and are influenced by legal and commercial factors, but we aim to communicate clearly and treat people respectfully throughout. We encourage colleagues to raise concerns directly so they can be discussed constructively.
