Pros

Great products, great company with strong future.

Cons

The ITAM role might be the least desirable of job offerings. Trying to create a progression from BDR, to ISR, to ITAM, and the field, though the ITAM might be the worst position. I'm hearing from tenured staff that there are issues with how quotas are built, and appears to be some drama within that. I have experienced the quota issue personally. My quota was set at the beginning of the quarter, a new role was created that cut my territory down to about half, but they did not adjust quota. I spend more of my time trying to find my orders and less time selling. This process is not explained fully when you start working with the company. Management demands the use of using Salesforce for forecasting, but it's not used to track commissions, creating 2 sites for tracking orders. Also, orders can be placed and there's little to no requirement for the order to be tied to the ITAM, up to the individual to apply it. This could lead to missed order tracking, which leads to missed commissions, as well as an affect on reaching quota which could lead to performance reviews. Extreme amount of micro-management.

Pros

The company is big and stable. It is constantly hiring. The job security is a definite plus. People are nice. Good fit for family people who are not looking for a lot of workplace excitement. Work environment is not stressful. Benefits are standard. Pay is good if you factor the stock options.

Cons

The work is very cut and dry. It is basically more of video product documentation than creative. A lot of video capping, voice overs, explaining and demoing how software features work. There is no camera work involved. The company is not a lot of fun either. There is no X-mas party. Not flexible with working from home. Even though a lot of work can be done from home. Vacation is 3 weeks including sick days. Changes to 4 weeks after 1st year. No budget to take courses or improve skills besides the product training

Pros

Cutting edge company, not afraid to try new technologies and verticals. I'e worked for several vendors over the years and Fortinet has definitely been the best one I have worked for. Executive management is strong and cares about its employees and takes a cautious approach financially while not afraid to be cutting edge technically.

Cons

Need to be a self starter and have the initiative to figure out how things work, sometimes on your own. Not always the marketing powerhouse that it deserves to be.
