      This is a good company to start with, learn new skills, and then move on.

      Cons

      In June 2024, I came across a job posting on LinkedIn for a hardware developer role at Fortinet, requiring a Master's or PhD in engineering, but offering a salary of only $77k to $107k :D. This seems disrespectful to highly educated graduates and existing engineers in the Canadian job market. Furthermore, do not expect a raise or promotion. In this company, lobbying and politics will get you much farther than your education or skills, as higher managers often do not prioritize innovation or employee's ideas about anything.

      Company is stable and growing.

      Cons

      Lot of Asian Chinese , they will bluntly speak Mandarin in meetings. Its unlike you have seen anywhere. Working from office is a big pain as chinese everywhere and they dont show any respect for others, they are loud in breakout rooms speaking chinese. Culture of the management is my way or the highway. No learning in release qa even though there is so much to learn in diff products

      Competitive Salary, decent products, growth potential

      Cons

      Nickle and dime employees - no stock purchase plan, resists paying for home office equipment, no company phones... just an approach that seems to say, "Here's your salary, you don't need anything else" Also, there is a top down management style - initiative is not always rewarded
