Pros

Cool Sales People. That's really about it...

Cons

Micromanagement. Internal social cliques. Awful internal morale. Even worse culture. Territory splits. Department clashes. ZERO verbal appreciation as an employee. Poor commission structure & no run-rate payouts. Some territories are better than others (not all equal) & once you start doing well, it will get split. DO NOT WORK IN THE FORTINET SMB SEGMENT/PLANO TX OFFICE, YOU WILL HATE YOUR LIFE!

Pros

Free coffee capsules each month 30 days of vacation Stocks after one year of employment

Cons

Only one HR person for the whole Prague office (for half a year while I was employed there was none) No meal vouchers, cafeteria points, multisport etc (standard benefits for 9/10 companies in Czech Republic) No home office before the pandemic Official documentation is scarce and incomplete, the products are full of bugs and most of the times you are so confused when working on cases. On top of that, you are expected to research on and present new features with every new major release while the developers themselves do not fully know about them until the actual day of release Most meaningful information regarding features is located on bug tickets and these are extremely hard to find and follow Customers can have 0 experience with the products (or technology in general, for that matter) and still be able to open a support case with no description, call in, get you on the phone and demand you basically do everything for them Management treats employees like machines for various reasons: - if they schedule a training for something, they consider you proficient after you complete it - technicians are expected to undertake more and more work, retain a high "customer satisfaction" and also improve themselves despite the departure of senior colleagues and the increased workload. Because of the inevitable underperformance, the management reckons it's a good idea to implement the most extreme form of micromanagement, pushing you all the time to work on more cases, calling you out if there are lost calls and generally restricting and controlling your work in every way possible - bonuses are handed out on a quarterly schedule based on bogus stats - if you are below the team average then you have not attained your goals. Nice way to promote cooperation and collective spirit - there is absolutely no way to express personal issues, dissatisfaction or proposals for anything and actually be heard. The management have their own ideas, you are just a cog in the wheel, apparently it is also very nice to be mocked and your arguments to be deflected constantly. If you keep complaining about basic stuff, it is totally acceptable for them to stop answering altogether - if you hand in your resignation and ask for your remaining holidays, you get denied because of "business needs" while your colleagues that are still working normally can take vacation whenever they want. Sounds totally legit, right?

Pros

Work is demanding and there is a lot of space for professional growth. Team mates are excellent persons and help each other professionally You can improve technical expertise in a day to day basis Work environment is very good

Cons

Salary is not competitive for the level of expertise and work stress required for the job. The positions are very underpaid at least in the department. Management do their average job but fail to properly plan and foresee situations and future work demands putting extra work stress over employees
