      Great Culture

      Pros

      I am sure you've heard it a bunch before, "company has great culture" but here it is true. Came to Future from an organization that was around for 50+ years and it was like the biggest breath of fresh air when I got to Future. From top down. The management is approachable and willing to listen. My colleagues are open to collaboration. Really makes you feel part of a team.

      Cons

      There hasn't been much upward mobility. We are a skeleton crew so while you get more work, you don't necessarily get the title that goes along with it.

      Pros

      Heritage and some talent still left. City of Bath is beautiful to love and work in. The odd free magazine. Group singing...

      Cons

      Complete lack of empathy toward staff. Pay structure frozen and unbalanced. No internal learning or training opportunities. Corporate comms claims eroded by reading trading updates - obfuscation the true state of consumer revenues. CEO and former CFO banking renegotiations earned management and shareholder bonuses at the expense of basic staff salaries. Most titles understaffed. Websites lack leadership and clear editorial strategy that fits contemporary media models. Bleak future.

      Pros

      There are lots of great people at the company in the US. Everyone seemed really on-board with trying to transform the business out of the 90's and into the present.

      Cons

      Moving entire teams to the UK without any advanced notice, come on folks, respect your employees enough to give them some heads up. Real decisions are made in the UK, which sucks because a lot of really great work comes out of the US.
