Salaries aren't that competitive for roles and other benefits aren't either. Unlimited holiday is a great perk but many staff feel discouraged from taking because of pressures from work. Lots of silos; a value is "we all row the same boat" but most people aren't on the same page, rather cliques exist from the various publications and companies that have acquired and there is no culture to overcome this. New mergers haven't been integrated properly so there is often duplication or conversely not enough resource to match capacity, and a lack of clarity of accountabilities/remit. Matrix organisation doesn't work for all business areas. Tendency to over-egg their position in media landscape. Lack of development opportunities.
