Poor management at middle and senior levels - short sighted decisions, self protection for those who have been there a long time, inability to make decisions for the longer term

Management forget about the basics to succeed. You better be good at politics and plotting against other teams/departments or else you are not going to be promoted. A real fear of taking decisions, especially the difficult ones. Calling reorgs when things are not going as expected instead of changing what must be changed. Systems and processes are heavier than government’s. Non-sense prevail in this KPI driven organisation. Promotion is rarely attributed according to merit.
