      Pros

      Used to be a great company before patent expirations. Pay is still excellent and benefits are good but that's about all it has going for it any longer.

      Cons

      Fear and despair define the corporate culture, even within upper management. Employees aren't truly valued and upward mobility is based solely on whom you know instead of what you can do.

      Pros

      Large, progressive, international company with many opportunities for growth. GSK has a generous educational policy to develop employees to their fullest. Lots of talented, hard-working people, striving to continuously improve what is already a world-class operation. The IT organization runs with high level of efficiency and very high-level of compliance.

      Cons

      Lack of leadership, cronyism and weak management in key positions resulted in the loss of public trust, missed business opportunities and forced down-sizing. The company has a much reduced R&D capacity as they now focus only on research with the highest profit potential.

      Pros

      New site in Rockville, MD will be in growth mode in 2016. If you live or are willing to move to the area, there may be a good number of opportunities.

      Cons

      Vaccines unit is in flux due to the recent merger / integration with Novartis Vaccines. It may take a few years until the vaccine organization is fully operating as one.
