Pros

Always in need of stylists, guaranteed revenue just by coming into work. Hourly wage generally not that great, but tips make up for it.

Cons

You have to learn to cut hair fast, or you'll get fired. 9 times out of 10 the upper level management does not cut hair, they don't understand what it's like being a hair stylist, so they demand things of the employees that are unfair.

Was great at first.....

Pros

The clients and tips can be amazing

Cons

I was supposed to be a full time employee, I'm now receiving 21 hours at the most. Not to mention I have the employee health insurance and am supposed to be having 30 hours a week to account for the $150 the take out every pay period. The manager treats me badly when it comes to my health issues

Pros

Some of the clients are nice and feel sorry for you to stand there all day cutting hair and leave you decent tips.

Cons

Long Hours and no overtime for over 8 hours. Always understaffed,so the good employee have to work harder. Stand for over 8 hrs. with only 30 mins Lunch. No breaks even after 5 hours...feel like cutting machine and expect you to do over 3.5 cuts a hour. Management is usually whom ever is willing to work the hardest and longest without quitting. Sometime work 12 hour days and no days off. Mostly make minimum wage plus tips, but go to school for almost 2 yrs. to make a little over minimum wage.
