Pros

If you want your haircutting skills to be Top Notch and you want to be able to cut any kind of hair male or female this is the place especially if your right out of hair school. you will be able to cut anykind of hair and your speed and detail will be awsome too, i would give it a try for at least two years. full time paid vacation

Cons

tips are good if you are in a high traffic area but the hourly pay sucks! The company keeps long hours mon-fri 9-9 sat 9-6 sun 11-6 if short staffed you will get burned out . not much time for family

Great Clips is a retail business offering great haircuts at the most convenient times for customers. Franchisees and managers understand that the busiest times for haircuts are often nights and weekends. They work hard to staff the salon for customer traffic while still considering a work/life balance. If you'd like, you can email Jeanne@greatclips.com with the salon location where you work. We will provide your comments to the franchisee of the salon. Thank you.

Great company

Pros

Great Clips is the #1 company in the business and it is because the company is run so well. Very focused strategy and great execution. All locations are owned by franchisees, so there is no conflict with a franchisor who also owns and operates retail sites - a potentially huge conflict conflict of interest. There is also no middle layer of master franchisees between the franchisee and the franchisor which enables direct support from the core business. Finally, Great Clips retail locations are generally owned by local franchisees who are caring, thoughtful people who work hard to provide excellent work conditions in an industry that has lots of independent locations owned by people who do not have lots of management training, financial capabilities, or leadership skills.

Cons

While this business is conceptually simple, it's not easy and requires lots of effort. Finding good locations and reliable talent is challenging. Covering the costs of employee benefits is an ongoing challenge.

We are sorry to see this. Great Clips is a franchised company and each salon is independently owned and operated by a franchisee. If you would like follow up regarding your comments, please email Jeanne@greatclips.com with the location where you were employed. We will then forward it to the franchisee to contact you. Thank you.
