Pros

Don’t need clientele to start there. You can start right after you get your license. Pay was okay, not great. If you want 40+ hours you’ll definitely get it. You do get 401k, health, dental, PTO. Which is nice. There is a little room to grow. They have team leads, assistant managers, managers, area managers. But you have to be full time flex to have these positions. The people you work with can make or break your experience here. Every location is different. A lot of the middle aged women are bullies that love drama and beefing with the younger employees.

Cons

If you are full time flex, you will get worked to the bone. I’m talking 50 hours per week. Lots of 9am to 8pm shifts. Weekends. There is no work life balance. And they want you to do between 12-15 minute haircuts which is insane depending on the cut. Sometimes would get scheduled 9am to 7:30pm and would only get one, 30 minute break for the whole day. They expect you to be 15 minutes early to your shift to set up. And they expect you to take clients if they even walk in 1 minute before closing time. Knowing that we still have to clean, pack, count money, etc. There were so many times we would get out of work 30+ minutes late. So imagine working 8:45am to 8:30pm multiple times a week. On top of that if your owner has multiple locations they will bounce you around a lot. A lot of the clientele that goes to great clips are CHEAP and don’t tip. But you’ll have other people that tip $20,$30, so it all evens out in the end. And remember, management is NOT your friend.
