Pros

IGG was (still is) the coolest place I worked in Canada and possibly in my life. I worked for over 20 years in VFX. I had never worked in the game industry before. I never imagined that I would enjoy working with Cinematic so much. The environment at IGG 'is wonderful. Everyone is super friendly, and everyone helps each other. I have worked in toxic environments before, and among the studios, I worked in, IGG has the best environment of all. The company is great. It values those who dedicate themselves, respect, and support their employees. The new building is incredible and very well located. Everyday supplies of snacks and healthy food, including fresh fruit, are available to employees. The new coffee machine deserves mention, and it's great. There are cafeterias and microwaves throughout the floors. Management and leadership are super polite and competent. When they ask for some change in the work, it makes a lot of sense. At the same time, they accept suggestions, and among the team, there are no unnecessary and unproductive disputes. There is absolute cooperation. I hope to work on this team for a long time.

Pros

Great work life balance General Manager (vancouver studio) is a cool guy, open to ideas and quick to pivot. Producers are awesome, friendly, very smart and works very well with the team to solve issues, be they with the games, the studio or the team members own issues. IGG Cares. HR are fantastic and go out of their way to help you. The server team are some of the smartest, patient people you will work with. They remind of a mountain. Rock solid guys. Client team and designers are very friendly, witty, and have a broad set of skills. Its the larger team size but they work very well together. The DevOps, CI and support teams, along with the managers - somehow pull it all off and we all get along. It is not an environment that believes in adding stress to your life, quite the opposite. They do all they can to remove it. On the higher end, CEO's, China team and other studios under the IGG banner, meeting, working and engaging with them was always a pleasure. Benefits are good, but do vary so dont be afraid to ask for a bit more (they prob wont but may help with your wage negoation). Wages are not the highest but they are certainly not the lowest easier. Very livable and bankable wages. There are share schemes and they also help you with some investment opportunities that go above and beyond the studio, IGG's success is typically your own success, if you work for it. Family. IGG are a family friendly company. Loads of incentives, help, advice, community spirit and benifits. Upper management, the CEO's, CFO's, CTO's etc I count as friends and some still keep contact. Very approachable, though, well traveled and not often in our studio met and worked with them on and off over my time there.

Cons

IGG is a China company and very China Centric. Their team is spread between Mainland China, Taiwan the US and Canada forming the core of the upper management, language sometimes can be a barrier in other studios - but not in IGG as a whole. For example, on every china trip most spoke english, though a good portion didnt, but every team, and other studio, speak english. I've seen alot of neg reviews about IGG but I feel I could point out exactly what their problem was, its culture. You have to be open to different viewpoints at IGG and understand they have their own unique way of doing things. Leave the ego at home, get stuck in and move quickly (as quick as you can, but never pushed too hard) and if your in it for the long term, the cons turn to pluses. Very broad range, many countries, nationalities, deadlines. the usual stresses and crunches, but the payoffs outweigh them. I dont think there are many cons TBH. Im struggling to find negatives. I've seen newbs get intimidated a bit or ego driven down quickly. You gotta be a team player (and that doesn't mean do as your told, just when you say something, say something smart) ((or at least funny)).
