      Pros

      I would like to start by saying that I have in no way been forced or bullied to leave a positive review here. On the contrary, I have been casually given a passing reference to leave an HONEST review, so here it comes: 1) no micromanagement, no check-ins and check outs during the day 2) your success is measured by your output and your success, not by your day-to-day attendence 3) inspiring managers, who have been in the industry for such a long time and who act as advisors/leads rather than managers. 4) experienced senior leadership who supports Ali with various viewpoints to ensure that he does not stray away in his decisions/actions (who is not a tyrant btw, as portrayed here by certain reviewers) 5) cool and game changer product 6) such a nice and dog-friendly office! 7) good career development opportunities, flexible internal movement opportunities 8) fair compensation (+ upcoming new benefits/initiatives that are currently being rolled out) 9) such a hands-on team, who will collectively reach out to users to get a better understanding of the product 10) motivated and friendly people 11) great remote work system!

      Cons

      1) it is a startup and there are still some certain systems that are not completely structured or missing, as a result certain aspects of the business are admittedly messy. however, they have recently hired a lot of people who are working on building up those systems. 2) there are not many company wide-events and there is a lack of emphasis on upholding the company culture and motivating the employers to spend more time connecting with each other. 3) more communication between the leadership team and the rest of the company. everything is transparent and i am sure everyone is appreciative of the different viewpoints, but it would be great to create more open communication channels and put more emphasis on bringing up new ideas. 4) work life balance could be streamlined between departments. again, this is one of those things that are already in the books but the efforts could be accelerated.

      Nothing worth mentioning - I'm super happy with Inkitt, it's the perfect place for people who love a fast-paced creative startup environment with a focus on learning and results.

      Pros

      - Open and transparent culture where all ideas are valued. - An environment of constant development which strives for the best, in terms of the product and for the people it recruits. - Creativity thrives! - A German company that welcomes and nurtures expats and actively integrates them into life in Berlin. (Language classes are available) - An employer that genuinely cares for the wellbeing of it's staff. This includes food, drinks, social events, sports/yoga classes, unlimited self development budget, company retreats, inspiration days etc. - Most importantly, a company who's mission I can align with and be proud of, which is to discover talent and revolutionise publishing and the consumption of books.

      Cons

      - Young company, so doesn't come without teething problems and learning curves. - Ideas fly around quickly, and are acted on quickly, you'll need be prepared and adaptable to change.
