Pros

- everyone has a passion for renewable energy, and tend to all get along because of that - very fair compensation, 21 days of PTO

Cons

- recent 5-day a week return to office policy, with little exception - lack of forum for feedback from employees - very few holidays off compared to most, not a huge issue due to high PTO

Excellent opportunities, for a price

Pros

Unquestionably an industry leader. Access to top expertise, internal and external. Long and proven track record with customers, contractors, consultants, and suppliers has yielded great trust.

Cons

Leadership seems to care more about forcing employees to return to office than it does about attracting and retaining top talent. Ample opportunities for burnout. (Some teams are fine, some are awful.) Veering toward bureaucracy in an effort to scale - feels decreasingly open to the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit that was once a central cultural value. Seems like with every new enterprise software license we sign up for, we squeeze out a little more room for creativity at the ground floor. These days, one person might get rewarded for mindlessly maintaining a bunch of business systems that don't actually work (but are a focus of executive attention), while someone else who is keeping the wheels on the bus gets ignored.

Pros

You get to work with a great group of intelligent people.

Cons

The vast majority of upper management are white men over 50. This lack of diverse backgrounds promotes a good old boys club culture. While the company likes to promote its DEI efforts, they are not a priority, and there is no culture of DEI within the company. This has driven decisions such as the return to a full time in the office schedule. No consideration was given to the impact this would have on working parents, neurodivergent employees, and non-white employees, all of whom benefit greatly from hybrid work schedules. This decision makes sense, given that it was made by older white men. Overall, there needs to be more consideration for employees at the company, as upper management does not seem to care about its greatest asset.
