Pros

My department and managers have always been supportive with my career goals and the goals of my teammates, while sticking to the company's values. Management is accessible and approachable, which is very different from what I have experienced in previous positions. I am kept extremely busy and challenged. While this could be viewed as a negative to some, it's what I want. I wasn't looking to be bored when I was searching for a place to advance my career. My hard work does not go unnoticed and it shows in my performance review results and the day-to-day encouragement and appreciation received. I am learning constantly. The company is growing and changing all the time, requiring the employees to do the same to accommodate. There are a lot of course offerings that the company puts out, but I learn more from having to figure out the challenges presented. The problem solving is continuous and it's a huge reward when one is resolved so I can move on to the next one. The company offers a lot of opportunities to interact with people in different departments. If not through actual tasks, there are also affinity groups, training sessions, and networking led by people in the organization that are open for anyone to participate. There are also social events that aren't usually paid for by the company, but still great to have organizers put things together for fun.

Cons

While everything in my "Pros" seems absolutely wonderful, Invenergy is definitely not perfect. Department and management chain definitely matter. I'm supported by a great team, but I know this doesn't apply to everyone. Through participation in some of the affinity groups and getting to know others in different departments, I know some colleagues who are having a terrible time. Their bad experiences are bad for everyone since they're either on their way out or less than engaged, which leaves their colleagues having to pick up the slack. The work from home policy sucks and I expect it will only get worse if it changes at all in the future. Executive leadership believes that people aren't engaged if they're not in the office. I think that's true for some, but not for others who have proven that the work doesn't stop even if people aren't working at the office. Priorities changed for people during the pandemic. We're limiting ourselves by not being more flexible with this.

Pros

Big company with job security and reach. Employees are very friendly and the company has strong morals and ethics unlike some other renewable energy companies

Cons

The pay is low and they are slowly restricting hybrid work.
