Terrible Company, No Sense of Direction

Pros

Opportunity to learn a lot quickly

Cons

Incredible amount of turnover that makes it impossible for the company to have any proper sense of the direction. Leadership is always concerned about the flavor of the month and no clear set of direction or strategy exists. The company lacks integrity - they falsely price development projects to commercial entities that don’t know any better. They promote trying to change the world through green projects and yet at the end of the day it is all about the money through taking advantage of counter parties that don’t know any better.

Good company. Horrible atmosphere.

Pros

We have good benefits along with reasonable salary ranges. We work in the heart of downtown Chicago with a beautiful view of the city. We are in a nice secure building with plenty of food choices for lunch.

Cons

Seems to be unfair to the minority employees for some odd reason. Upper management is afraid to step in and resolve conflict within the office. High turnover. Expects way more work done for the amount of pay. Employees click together to pick on newer hires.

Run... don't do it

Pros

Extremely low pay, but the pro is there is not much work to do. The volunteering opportunities are great! Most managers will force you into the office, but there are some managers who will allow you to WFH a couple times a week.

Cons

Don't do it, even if you're desperate. This is the worst place I've ever worked in my entire career. The most toxic workplace I've worked in. They allow managers who have been there for a long time get away with the most insane and rude behavior that wouldn't stand ANY where else. I've seen managers throw their own employees under the bus in front of vendors/internal employees. Most employees will do anything to look good and no one takes accountability for mistakes. I have personally been belittled via email and on meetings by managers in different departments and have been in shock how these certain managers treat their own employees. Managers aren't trained at all and basically give anyone promotions even those with 0 people/management skills (which might explain part of the toxic culture). Senior management is even worse, just doing anything to keep the CEO happy. Even though (they themselves) and all employees are extremely unhappy with his decisions like making every go in 5x a week into the office (with absolutely zero perks). There are no snacks in the office. People are lucky if they find scraps of leftover pizza and is usually gone within MINTUES because free food/free anything is a rare treat. The CEO is extremely cheap and it shows. He just wants to see butts in seats and thinks productivity is going into the office. The office is extremely drab and depressing. Zero team building initiatives or fun company parties. Basic feminine products are not supplied. An employee purchased/supplied tampons in the bathroom (instead of the company purchasing and supplying).
