Pros

Good pay, benefits, decent work life balance

Cons

Company has not decided what exactly, they are looking to accomplish. You never feel secure, have no idea if there is going to be a job for you, and there are constant layoffs and restructuring. Additionally, no clear path for management, one day a director is in one role, the next day he is gone...

Pros

Salary is ok, holiday entitlement is alright, colleagues are by and large ok (helps you to survive in that awful environment)

Cons

Employees stretched way too thinly, inept management at all levels, too much reliance on cost saving to make money and a tremendous lack of product innovation. This is hardly an exciting company at the forefront of things. Way too cautious until it decides on the next round of redundancies. Seems very reactive as opposed to proactive.

Pros

Decent salary for locality compared to other major employers. Production Shift pattern gives plenty of time off. (144 shifts vs. 221 days off per annum) Private Health care scheme. Share purchase scheme with buy 2 get 1 free deal. Company Shop to purchase products cheaply.

Cons

Far too much nepotism going on. New workers employed not for their skills and competancy, but because of who they are related to, or are best friends with! HR awkward with no heart. Company sticks rigidly to rules but employees expected to be ultra flexible. Company using current economic climate as excuse to trim costs, have ruined the future defined benefit pension of many long term employees by capping annual rises, also coupled with below inflation pay rises for the past 3 years, and pay band freezes/downgrading.
