Speaking to KC PROFESSIONAL (b2b)

Business Outlook

Pros

KCP is not a demanding work environment and allows you to have great work/life balance. Many people complain, but I know of the people complaining that they still take several hours off in the day to workout, pick their kids up, cut out early to go do personal things, etc. People mostly complain because there are so many meetings and call that hard work - the meetings are just annoying because they're often unnecessary or there for someone to pass their work onto you. The people there are generally nice, and whether it's real or not, they promote a "caring culture."

Cons

Poor leadership at KCP - This is at the top but sadly it's mostly at the people management level where it impacts the people actually doing the work. I use to not think this, but after several reorgs, they lost a lot of good talent and now have unqualified and incompetent people managing teams. It's honestly so laughable. Lack of integrity and work ethic - People who have been there for a long time know get paid a ton and know how to skate by with doing the bare minimum. Those people are great at doing absolutely nothing then making it look like they were the ones who put in the work. The ones who actually do the work do not get the credit, and I have seen and experienced this over and over again. People only want to work on "high-visibility" projects/initiatives, so they (usually leaders) only insert themselves there and give the grit work to those below them. It's a shame, as this is not how it use to be - culture has shifted in a negative way. No decision making and accountability - The marketing and business decisions are made by sales at the end of the day. This is likely why our marketing teams have no clue what they're doing and why they're bringing on unqualified people. It doesn't matter when they just do what they are told by sales. It's also probably a reflection of why marketers don't know how to make decisions, own them, aren't held accountable, etc. and get away with the same boring, mundane, less than mediocre work they produce. You don't have a voice - Don't speak up unless you're willing to go along with whatever horrible ideas are being thrown out. Anyone who goes against the grain but is good is seen as "not a culture fit." I have seen too many good leaders and people be asked to leave or left on their own because KC Professional doesn't like people who want to try different things, push for better, speaks up, makes decisions, etc. They want sheep.

great people - no career development

Recommend
Business Outlook

Pros

Great people, mostly overqualified for the role they are assigned to. Very friendly atmosphere, flexible working, everything through Skype, relatively low stress in terms of people interactions. Ideal with people with kids - great work-life balance. If you are happy with a stagnant work go for it!

Cons

No career development - plans are on paper but leaders really dont care. Some senior managers are inexperienced and do not lead teams - they are rather figure heads. Low learning opportunities, company not innovative and out of the box enough, stuck in processes rather than business results. Renumeration, career has nothing to do with performance. Political environment - they say ‘up stander culture’ is implemented, but if one speaks the truth and it happen not be convenient there are repecussions and serious ‘chats’. So people do not speak up, they do not disagree. Result - not dynamic, killing great ideas, withholding the best employees.
