Pros

KC used to be a super place to work and I am grateful for the career I had. Former Senior Management preached that people were their most valuable asset, and their actions were consistent with that philosophy.

Cons

Things slowly started to change when a new Senior Management team was put in place. Here are some (but not all) of the issues: Hypocritical management..."we need to cut cost and save every penny we can as margins are declining. But first let me take my profitability bonus of 12M." Absolutely unfair employee rating system that encourages politicking to get a good rating. Upper management is completely unaware of how incapable some of the lower management in the field are. Management can't stick with a plan for the long term...they tend to panic when the smallest part of the plan goes awry, and reverse the direction. Then, when the next thing goes wrong, they'll go back two steps to the original plan.

Not A Place to Work

Pros

Difficult to say anything good when they are mismanaged. Tom Falk cares more about his pocket book and he cares about those who have given alot to K-C. Forget about the old family atmosphere and doing the right thing.

Cons

Poor management team and an inferior product team. No excuses - used to be the leader in several categories and now they are playing catch up all the time. Everytime you look product is on allocation. The constant excuses from management of why this happens is just not good enough and they leave their salepeople hanging out to dry. Most of their management team forget where they came from and treat their underlings miserably. If there is one area where training should happen it is definitely needed for their managers, who cannot lead and many are put into that position because there is no other place to go. Worst of all they have no experience.

Great people, except for The boys in Dallas

Pros

Great starting pay. The people they hire are mostly very kind and easy to work with. If you live in the right locations you have a chance for promotion.

Cons

Old boys network holding strong. Executives can't make up their minds as to which direction to take the company. Employees seen as numbers not people. Too inclined to look at only the bottom line. Quick to fire people to save a buck.
