Kimberly Clark has built a strong company culture!

Pros

Kimberly Clark provides many liberties that other employers fail to do. The work/life relationship at K-C truly is that. It is not only respected by management, but expected as well. Giving its employees the appropriate work load, strongly supports this mentality. Also, the company is great at providing communication from its senior management in an effective and personal way, lending opportunities for direct interaction with them in a non threatening environment. Lastly, benefits and compensation are competitive at my current level. There is clearly an incentive to work at Kimberly Clark and to perform to the best of one's abiltiy.

Cons

The decision process slows the company. There are many layers of decision makers that strategies and plans need to filter through before they are actionable.

Pros

The development opportunities are abundant and K-C puts a lot of effort into giving new employees a variety of experiences from day 1. The salary and benefits are very competitive compared to the industry as a whole and promotions come quickly, especially to high achievers. What sets K-C apart though, for me, is the great people you get to work with on a daily basis

Cons

The main downside at K-C right now is the workforce optimization going on which naturally hurts morale. Going forward it will be good for the company as a whole to have a leaner organizational structure

Pros

More than fair benefits, including med/dental/Educational Reimbursement. Ample opportunity for career exploration in the 'good old days' but not so much anymore. Unless you are willing to uproot your family every so often there is little opportunity for job growth.

Cons

The 'new and improved' Performance Management System and forced ranking. It's still all about 'who' you know, not 'what' you know. KC used to be much more family oriented and there were supervisors and team leaders who actually cared about their teams development. Now, every decision is political. KC lost some of it's best employees to 'outsourcing' and many others jumped ship before they could be cut.
