Don't Drink Kwik Trip's Kool-Aid

Pros

A lot of people say the "December Profit Check" however, if Kwik Trip REALLY cared, they would take the money they gave you and either put it into a ESOP, 401K, or just increase your hourly wage. The "December Profit Check" is just a cheap, crappy ploy to boost morale ineffectually.

Cons

It's about time someone got real with kwik trip. They have you drinking the Kool-Aid when you first start, and until you break free of their corporate haze, do you realize it's actually quite a crappy place to work. The full-timers' schedules literally change constantly depending on the business need. The management will actually promise various people certain positions or things just to make something that benefits THEM happen. Good luck trying to navigate thru the magical field that they call a "team". You will never know if someone you are working with is TRULY your friend. I have seen people that called each other "friends" turn them in to the boss for petty things. There aren't enough people to manage a busy store--you are told to do 20,000 different things but you only have a small period of time to do them in. I have literally watched as an associate who had been abused by her husband, get walked to the "office", the door was slammed, and the store manager started yelling. DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT WAS A GOOD THING TO DO TO A GIRL WHO WAS PHYSICALLY ABUSED BY HER HUSBAND? I brought this issue up to Kwik Trip Human Resources, but they scoffed at it and did nothing about it. What a freaking joke. Kwik Trip is a literal joke. Until you can actually leave, does the Kwik Trip poison start leaving your body and you start to see clearly about how bad it really was. I now work at a job where I work less hard and I make more money and I work with people that are actually real, and don't talk any crap behind my back. Don't work at Kwik Trip, if you have any sanity left to you.

Pros

-Year End Bonus -Free Pop and Coffee -Always Busy -Pay is decent for what the job is

Cons

-Management would routinely change the schedule with very little or no notice. -Uniforms are expensive for a part time job. -No accountability for team members lack of performance or neglect of company policy, no rewards or recognition for those who pick up said employees lack of performance or neglect of policy. -Management style is best described as orchestrated chaos. <-witnessed at several metro location, this wasn't an isolated event, but more of a requirement of the position. -Company routine breaks Minnesota state labor laws. -In the state of Minnesota it is required for employers to offer paper checks to employers, signing up for direct deposit was required to gain employment, is this not illegal?
