Pros

Free soda, hiring process was a day. Have to wait for drug testing to come back before you can start working.

Cons

Want to work your butt off in a stressful setting, then this is the job for you. They tell you one thing and do another. Never enough help and the turnover is huge. They expect a lot for the little pay. Every other weekend off? What a joke, and you can't leave your shift until your relief gets there, that's if they decide to show up.

Pros

Free soda/coffee, piece of fruit. Often great coworkers, end of year bonus

Cons

Where to start. Company itself doesnt care about you. Unrealistic goals for food production - which is how staffing hours are generated. Individual store leaders and managers might care, but their hands are tied as far as giving employees the tools necessary. Constantly understaffed for what is required. So many duties and expectations, but Kwik Trip doesn’t want to staff people to get everything done. Pay needs to be better for what is expected, especially food service. You’re constantly hauling around the kitchen trying to get things done and put food out, but no matter what you do, it’s never enough. By time staff gets used to new products, they add more and more products and duties on top of already-stressed workers. Kwik Trip expects perfection and maximum sales but refuses to give the proper tools in order to make it happen - nor will they compensate you more, even if you’re having breakdowns at work because the stress. Look, it’s a retail job. Most of the time, I can punch in and punch out, get my stuff done and leave. Often times though, you get reminded of the issues plaguing the company and get frustrated. If you’re easily angered by corporations, don’t work here. If you don’t really care and want to just get your hours and leave, you’ll probably be fine.

Pros

Great coworkers, decent benefits. Meet a lot of great guests.

Cons

The company has the right idea but do not know what's going on at store level. It's growing at such an accelerated rate, they can't keep up. They go through ASLs like crazy because they're the ones get abused and overworked from both sides. It is nothing to work a minimum 50 hours a week and there's no maximum. I knew some ASLs working 70+ every single week. I was told many great things during my 3 hours of interviews and when I got into my home store, it was entirely different. I had a SL who was rude, talked crap about everyone and was just all around, unprofessional. The saddest part, this individual was just promoted so they will now make even more people miserable. If I had a different SL, I may have stayed but they made me unhappy daily. My mood changed drastically. I never got a day off without being called in because someone didn't show up for a shift. It was a constant mess. They have policies in place and great intentions but at store level, that gets twisted. They also start you and others in the same position at very different rates of pay. I found out after I left that someone who came in, with much less years of experience, recieved $4 more an hour. I was so frustrated when I heard that. I took a massive pay cut when I left my former employer who I'd been with for quadruple the amount of time of this other person. (Who was male and I'm female) They tell tough they have a wonderful work/life balance. It's non existent.
