Fun, Active, Challenging, Non-Stop, Rewarding, Tons of Hours, No Lunch
Pros
Pay, there are tons of bonuses, you make pretty decent money off of memberships, and Move-Its (little things you have to do), if you didnt try at all you could make 60k a year, while the guy down the hall is pushing over 100k. Rewarding, some of these people actually need help. So it feels good to be inspiring to help them out. Great family atmosphere, there are big families that grow to like you, you can become quite close to them, and it really does just feel good. The people that work there are great, the GM Shawn is amazing. Working in a gym is nice, but you dont get the time to workout as you'd think unless your a 6amer. Certification is hard, but fun-ish.
Cons
No scheduled lunches or breaks.. Ever. Everyone else gets a break but the sales team. you could just be sitting down for lunch and get called to help a guest. your food gets cold, and you could be gone for another 2-3 hours before you can sit back down to eat. Hours- You're scheduled 5 days a week, with a week day and weekend day off. Well good luck. You probably wont hit the insane quota, so if you're behind, you dont get your days off. They push you to come in every weekend day, and weekday you're off. I think I roughly got about 3 days off per month if I was lucky. Daily hours. You could come in at noon- and leave at 930ish. 9 if you're lucky. mostly you'll come in early, and leave late. if you're a morning worker, they'll have you in 8-6 which means good luck getting off after the after work rush, so 7 or, 9-7ish, still. good luck. remember, you dont have a lunch or break either. Manditory last three days of every month called closeout, mid month closeout, plus first day of every month for some national call, plus some random day the first week in the month where they make you do a group workout at like 7am. (obviously they dont care if you just got off at 930 or 10 the night before). No worklife balance. Super high stress. They are pushing pushing pushing. They tell you its about the member, and when you want to help them by giving a cheaper joining fee, you get in trouble because it looks bad on numbers. Did I say stress? I mean constant stress. Like unbelievable stress. Certification is non stop 5 days of training, 8am to like 7pm in minnesota. I got 3 days of pto for being there around a year... pretty sure we worked christmas eve and thanksgiving day. New years day is chaos. Black friday is chaos. All holidays suck at lifetime. If you sign up to work here. Say goodbye to your social life, and hello to a fat bank account. but, you'll always find ways to spend it.
