CEO Scrambling

Pros

Members and coworkers are generally nice and fun to interact with. Free membership as employee

Cons

Middle and upper management are running their teams ragged. The company over extended itself either before, during, or after COVID and are now trying to put money on the books by slashing costs, starting with their employees. For a company that prides itself on the member experience, running a skeleton crew of overworked and under appreciated people is the opposite of what people want to see, especially when your membership prices continue to rise. Management on all levels needs a reality check, your team is your bread and butter, maybe some corporate salaries should get cut first

Pros

Free gym membership for employees

Cons

Most corporate, bureaucratic place I've ever worked. They claimed to be Agile but essentially ran waterfall in 2-week sprints. My team did not include a Product Owner (or any representative from Product), so any questions had to be routed/filtered through my manager, up a few levels and then back down. The business stakeholders we worked with seemed openly hostile/resistant to Agile--even after having completed 1 week of company-mandated Agile training. They still wanted waterfall rather than iterative development/delivery. Be prepared for the CEO to completely blow up your lives once per quarter or so. He will decide that some change needs to be made in 2 weeks, after which everyone scrambles to complete it on time, regardless of what had been planned. Very hostile to remote work. Fortunately, I started right after lockdown when the company was more open to it. Since I had been told I could work remotely when I was hired, I was grandfathered in--at least under the table by my manager. Technically, though, I was supposed to be hybrid. Compensation was on the low end. 401k matching is not guaranteed. Had to wait 2 months for health insurance coverage, which is unacceptable.

Pros

Pros: great people to work with and awesome clientele that are respectful and professional

Cons

The pay scale is VERY confusing and they tell you in the interview what it looks like and how awesome it is and how you can grow blah blah blah only to find out 90 days later that you get paid SH*T! The worst most confusing commission rate; it is based on production made 4 weeks ago! You have to track your numbers you did 4 weeks ago in order to know what this current week's commission % will be. The worst place to work for in regards to how they care for their employees! An employee died and they literally went on as if nothing happened and hired someone new in her place. No employee-wide notification remembering her, NOTHING! They will give you upgraded titles and make people employee of month BUT for no incentives! No raises, bonuses, terrible insurance, NO 401K matching, oh and the managers will put pressure on you to achieve more so they can have a bonus! Nothing for the employees. Why should employees want to work here?
