Toxic Leadership and Work Culture

Recommend
Business Outlook

Pros

- Free gym membership - Middle management really cares about its employees and tries to protect them.

Cons

- Leadership makes very erratic, uninformed decisions that often derail projects and teams. This ultimately leads to poor delivery of products and services. - Laid off excellent managers for new department leaders that have zero empathy and lack product/tech experience. They operate on pitting employees against each other to come up with solutions. It's created a toxic and exhausting corporate work environment to be where folks feel the need to work after hours and over the weekend to meet expectations and protect their jobs.

It's all about the money

Business Outlook

Pros

Free membership, good benefits, most of the people you work with are decent human beings

Cons

It's like being a part of a cult. The CEO doesn't actually mean the things he says when it comes to diversity, equity and inclusion as he doesn't want "regular people" in his locations. Many have been witness to his outbursts yelling profanities and name calling his team. Everyone just lies to his face to try to keep him happy and the sad part is that he doesn't know it. There is a lack of career planning and if you make one mistake, the gossip train never stops. You really never feel safe there.

Pros

Free Membership and use of all Facilities. Positive and diverse company mission. Wonderful physical environment.

Cons

Mediocre Pay. Super expensive benefits. Practical reality of Diversity mission is somewhat of a joke. Good intent, poor follow through. Customers and members were great. Employees and front office..... At a high end, luxury facility, in this location, the customers were wonderful, but the employees had the judgemental snobbery, ego, back stabbing, and toxic behavior, instead. Aside from that, Training is non-existent, outdated, or irrelevant. The permission set up with Level 1 to 3 Concierge employees, with system and account changes + new accounts permissions restricted to Level 2 and above, but often being scheduled to work to alone as a Level 1, was horrible. Half of an 8 hour shift, I had to refer customers to the website because I had no permissions to even see pricing or account history. Horrible member experience. Horrible employee experience due to this. Overall, not a bad company, and would recommend it looking for a job. But, unless the expensive gym membership is something that is a priority, there are typically better options and pay. But, I wouldn't turn the job down, if offered, either.
