Good place to start for fresh graduates, but older people better leave

Pros

It is a strong company brand. You have a chance to work with interesting and challenging products. If you are a fresh graduate from University and is offered an internship take it. Looks good on the cv.

Cons

They are focusing alot on cutting costs from time to time. People do not get properly compensated for their hard work as a consequence. They prefer that older (more expensive workers) leave the company and are replaced by younger (cheaper) people. Sometimes they feel this is not enough so they try to ship whole departments to low wage countries. Career opportunities are limited. It is easy to get trapped doing the same tasks without advancing. You have to stay hungry and search for new opportunities yourself. It is too much politics and silo mentality preventing people from performing well.

Pros

The company really cares about what you want to do in your professional career. I'm a finance major that is not an intern in the finance department, but my manager has set up meetings for me with finance people and the amazing HR team set up a intern call with the CFO. The people are genuine in helping you advance in your career, even if its not Nasdaq. Honestly its a great place to work for and the HR team put together a great group of interns this summer and it'll be amazing to see Nasdaq grow as a company.

Cons

The limited resources that teams have, but they do try to put the best product out there given their resources.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us your feedback! Our interns are an integral part of our business, and the work they do is incredible. We make sure our interns work on real projects with real business impact. Because of our intern’s hard work, we were actually named a Top 100 Internship Program by WayUp for 2018! We’re so glad you enjoyed your summer with us – we had a blast getting to know all of you.

Pros

Great colleagues and fantastic client

Cons

Very US centric means they often forget that there are clients (and employees) in the rest of the World. Use your global resources, ask the people on the ground what your clients need. Career development is stifled due to their believe that Mgmt needs to sit in London resulting in promotions based on location rather than talent.

Thanks so much for leaving us your feedback. As a global company, we are actively working to engage with our employees and clients around the world, so this feedback will help us in the future to execute on this goal. Some ways we are currently working to connect more fully with our global presence is through the development of an internal mobility group here at Nasdaq. We also offer a mentorship program that helps transfer knowledge and enable growth despite geographic boundaries. We hope we can expand on these efforts in the future to truly make the most of our global footprint for our employees and clients.
