Pros

Lessons scheduled at the last minute. This might work for some people.

Cons

Firstly, you have to complete an endless number of online activities including watching many videos and then answering quizzes before being accepted onto this platform. Basically, the application process is long and painful. I was then accepted on to the platform but almost immediately the company deactivated my account. I kept emailing them but they would then activate it for like less than a day which didn't give me enough time to read the materials and read all the other requirements. Even while my account was deactivated, they booked lessons then said I didn't attend. They then charged me even though the constant deactivation of my account was their fault. I sent them many emails. This company doesn't properly answer emails. They send boilerplate answers and mostly it seems like a bot answers. You also can't delete your account on their system. It was clear to me that they deactivated the account then suddenly booked lessons so that the teacher can't attend so that they can charge the teacher! This platform is very dictatorial and frankly a scam. Avoid it.

It is a good company to work for, you get paid on time and what you were promised, conducting lessons are made easy because everything is provided to you on the platform.

Cons

I got one low rating out of 22 ratings and my account was deactivated and I have no idea as to when I will gain any feedback.

Pros

Working as a home-based online English tutor offers flexibility in setting your own schedule and working hours. You can work from anywhere with an internet connection, avoiding commuting and enjoying location independence. Online tutoring provides access to a global student base, increasing job opportunities and earning potential. Additionally, technological advancements offer interactive tools and resources to enhance the learning experience, making lessons engaging and effective.

Cons

Working as a home-based online English tutor requires self-discipline and motivation to stay focused without the structure of a traditional workplace. Technical issues such as internet connectivity problems or software glitches can disrupt lessons. Online tutoring lacks physical presence, making it harder to establish a connection with students and provide immediate feedback. Time zone differences when working with international students may require accommodating early mornings or late nights, impacting work-life balance.
