Pros

Great flexibility with your hours and company vehicle and computer are offered. The people are friendly and colleagues are good sources of information.

Cons

Management is poor and don't offer much support for large deals, presentations or newcomer training. Lots of turnover. Bonus plan is almost unattainable. Cutbacks are becoming the norm. Complex sales model hinders job performance.

Pros

Working on the projects such as the development of texts in different subject matters. The people who you work with on the projects are amazing. You feel a sense of accomplishment when a project is complete and you know it will reach hundreds of people.

Cons

Too political. Too female-dominated, which can turn gossipy and competitive. Nepotism is an issue meaning those with less or no experience with a family/friend connection will always get the job. Salaries are very low. Not too many full-time positions. Mostly contract positions that can last years.

Pros

If you are in Sales, life is good. Endless excuses for not hitting your target, no accountability and neverending spiffs and payola.

Cons

Senior Management is stuck in the Dark Ages. They refuse to acknowledge that the printed book is dead and that digital is the way of the future. Absolute ignorance around marketing and product development and see overpaid sales reps as the road to salvation. Non-existent career development, totally ignored performance review system and inundated with folks who have been their for years and years, WELL past their best before date.
