the good, the bad and the ugly

Pros

Amazing colleagues, work environment (cool office, breakfast, lunch), good salary/benefits

Cons

Fear/bully culture, very political. Poor management by some of the higher execs which leaves a mark in the office. No work/life balance, work hard, no play. Performance pressure is very high. The salary/benefits is also a big reason why people stay, even if they're not happy in the job anymore.

Pros

Good pay, benefits great, free lunch

Cons

They allow someone to be descriminated by supervisors. As he tells me how black i sound, and customers over the phone dont deserve my black attitude. I was actually fired because i had to flex my shift, which was allowed by this 3rd party company Netflix used for scheduling. 2 weeks prior, i flexed some hours and had to take an absense becuase i was unwell. My supervisor told me i couldnt do that. I said ok.....but really didnt get that. If your sick, ur sick. However another person o. Another team i know personally, did it all the time. Crazy, there white!

Great place to work, could use some more diversity

Pros

Great people who are smart and capable. I appreciate that they hire people who are experienced and proven, unlike other places I have worked that hire right out of college and you get a mixed bag that way. Love the free, healthy, food. Flexible vacation works well in my org and I was happy not to have to scale down my vacation time after having built up a lot at my last job. Just make sure you have your work covered and check in periodically for emergencies, other than that no one gives you a hard time. Not every team is as flexible with this as mine is, from what I gather from talking to other people in other orgs. I haven't seen a lot of turnover on my team so far but it is still somewhat early days.

Cons

Not a very diverse environment, which is not a surprise if you read their demographic data. In particular, there are very few women in technical leadership roles. Yes, this is a problem in this industry in general but I have worked for companies that do a much better job.
