Pros

- Tight-knit workforce filled with passionate people who seem to truly care about Niantic's mission. - CEO John Hanke has a strong moral compass and provides clear direction for the company. - Leadership team is inspiring and admirable. - Incredible tech and exciting future ahead, with strong team members in all departments trail blazing. - You truly feel like you can rely on coworkers to pull their weight and then some. - Nice perks (free breakfast, lunch, and snacks, etc.). - Competitive salary. - Excellent benefits package.

Cons

- Work/Life balance can be rough, with so many ambitious and driven team members setting unreasonably high bars for others. - Transparency could be better, although some efforts are made here and there. - PTO is below average.

Shitshow

Business Outlook

Pros

good base salary (bigtech level)

Cons

Total shitshow. - management thinks they are godly and everyone in the world is waiting for their tech to arrive to use it (John Hanke is decent but the platform SVP - Brian: ugh) - directors, SVPs are worse. The only ones staying in the spatial spin off are the ones sucking up the staff : zero creativity or problem orientation, just play politics and “alliances” to keep each others careers afloat” - the spatial spin off has no product market fit, no revenue, no customer orientation and no AI researchers!!!! (After raising on behest of AI) Basically Scopely bought the entire company for $3.5B and just retained games. Platform was bought for $0 but they spun off to basically sell the company for talent/data. Their research unfortunately is not even that great. If I have one word for everything Niantic, that would be DELUSIONAL.
