Exciting tech, positive company mission, and great people

Pros

- A company mission that is good for society, not just the business - A CEO that believes in supporting the players first and trusting that they will support our business - Talented teams made up of genuinely good people that care about their products - The only company driving both an exciting new tech field (Augmented Reality) and running real-world events for their players - Employees encouraged to attend events and meet our players - Perks (food/reimbursements/benefits) and social get-togethers (climbing, board games, etc.) - Office location with an amazing view

Cons

- Recruiting process can take a while (but not complaining as long as it maintains the current quality of people) - Some people appear to be overloaded with work, though it may be by choice. People love what they do here! - If you're the type who needs a lot of direction from management, you may struggle a bit. While managers are always available for advice, they largely try to enable you to set your own direction and work priorities.

Pros

- Supportive group of people to work with - I feel challenged but not overwhelmed with my workload - Transparent from top to bottom on almost everything - Hard work is recognized and appreciated - Niantic offers so many opportunities for employees to experience our products as much as possible. In turn, many of us enjoy Pokémon GO and Ingress outside of work hours as well. - We live and breathe the mission principles of Niantic which makes work enjoyable and keeps me motivated.

Cons

- Fast growing company (which is also good), I like knowing the names of everyone and how easy it is to get to know each other and am nervous to see if the current culture will be able to remain.

Cutting Edge Company with Exciting Aspirations

Pros

Niantic is an incredible place to work. Everything done here is on the absolute cutting edge and your work makes a meaningful difference. Some highlights: - Amazing games, applications, platforms and other technology - Live events, community outreach, social impact and other real world contributions - A corporate culture where everyone supports, enables, and lifts each other up - Knowledgable management, executives, and teams which have both been together a long time but openly invite contributions and new hires - Awesome offices with great perks such as food, coffee, lovely co-workers - There's always a lot of new, interesting work to be done that you won't see in other companies - Everyone works hard and contributes. Niantic hires the best, so you never feel overburdened or that others aren't pulling their weight. - The company shows genuine love for its people and is flexible. It encourages people to travel to events, works with them if things come up, has a history of promoting from within and takes care of employees. In short, I feel truly lucky to work here. For my first couple of months I literally woke up every day thinking 'is this real'? I often feel bad telling my friends about my job because other companies simply can't compare.

Cons

In my experience, the hours have been a little longer than some other companies, but in all honesty, I haven't minded since I love the products and interesting work. If it were ever an issue, I feel confident I could reach out to someone to discuss.
