Pros

I met a variety of owners and led a team of talented sales reps (that never stood a chance) Base pay You will learn to deal with disorganization, frustration and absurdity that will better prepare for a role elsewhere that you will be valued.

Cons

Potential squandered by a fundamental lack of NA markets. Recruiter painted a drastically different picture than what the role entailed. There was to be no building of a sales team to correct the initial mistakes in the market. Leaders are not invested in you. You cannot invest in your teams it's all about pushing owners into bad decisions asap. Training for BDMs - nonexistent - They are expected to produce from day one. Most of my time had no hospitality or outside/B2B experience. They are not given tools or training to succeed before the clock on "performance management" is ticking. 60-90 days and you will be cut. The sales cycle is realistically 90-180 days, btw. No training for the BDH role - leadership was not accountable for anything other than demanding results. The expectation is for owner to sign life changing contracts in a shakedown arbitrary timeline for 'deals.' The reputation of the company, based on their track record of damaging partners, withholding money, changing or reneging their contracts at will makes selling both unrealistic and detrimental to owners. The owner community continues to receive feedback from current partners and the communication on social mediea whatsapp etc means they have gotten wise to the scams. They make no investment sales enablement tools. They tout themselves as technology company with below parity cloud software that only works on small scale in underdeveloped countries and cannot compete as a value prop in NA markets. The deals you do sign, you feel as if you have done a disservice to owners as nothing is executed as promised. Leadership from 'central supply' is full of non-qualified friends of CEO. Company sales structure, comp plans change monthly, often mid month while 'sign or get lost' is still in play. Mass layoffs. 3 rounds in the past year. Most recently due to 'performance' in Covid-19 environments of closed hotels, stay at home orders. Company is hemorraghing money, softbank's vision fund won't save it. The founder and CEO is on a delusional mission to build his ego at all costs, not a company. The culture full of terrified yes men with no understanding of project management, sales enablement, marketing and business acumen.

Pros

At one time I would have said there were many but after the events of this January I have nothing positive to say. Hundreds of people lost their jobs with no warning and a joke of a 2 week or 3 week severance regardless of their tenure, past performance or contributions to this company. *The one thing I will say is that I have met and worked with some amazing individuals and have made life long friends. The talent that this company has wasted is beyond reason. As a team we care about each other and we supported each other day in and day out when no one else did. That is the only PRO I will give this company and sadly they have thrown that away. I believe that in total there may only be 4-5 people left from the original hires in the US. Other than them, if they didn't come from India, no one will be able to say that they have been with this company longer than a year.

Cons

*company doesn't care for the well being of its people *questionable business practices *questionable hiring practices *didn't do any market research before coming into the US hospitality space * a technology company who’s technology is inadequate and often doesn't work *refuses to listen and adapt *makes desperate changes before looking at the long term consequences/unable or unwilling to think anything all the way through *laid off hundreds of people with NO NOTICE - many found out when their final pay appeared in their accounts and access to work tech was simply cut-off *Unable or unwilling to admit or learn from their past mistakes *hires leadership either based on their nationality or from industries that know NOTHING about hospitality industry - One can sell a technology that performs brain surgery but that doesn't mean they are a brain surgeon *leadership from outside the industry is not trained in the jobs of the people they oversee and when they are asked for help they are unable to provide the assistance their team requires so they either give no answer or give incorrect informations *there are no established uniform processes *employees and business partners alike are treated with mistrust and disrespect *they hired Americans to establish themselves and are moving those jobs to India *read all the reviews and work for them at your own peril. They will offer you good money to start and tell you about the opportunity to grow but it is ALL SMOKE AND MIRRORS

Pros

These people are clueless and desperate, so you’ll be able to stick it to them by locking in a high salary and mileage reimbursement. However, in the end they’ll be sticking it to you! The package they offer is meant to trick you and lure you in. The job is totally remote. Daily calls but no meetings or office time.

Cons

These people are straight up ANIMALS. They lie to their employees, customers, etc. They are constantly restructuring so cuts are happening monthly. I personally had huge doubts before accepting the position, and in the end everything I assumed became a reality. Please, pay attention to these reviews. Do not quit a good job to join this disgrace of an organization. They are ruining people’s lives. I repeat, THESE REVIEWS ARE REAL! I visited my territory daily, submitted deal requests, added new hotels, went on tons of meetings, and still got fired. Half my team got fired as well. People with families, bills, had left huge companies because they were promised growth, etc., etc., FIRED from one day to the next. These guys won’t be around much longer. Do yourself the favor and pay attention to people like myself trying to raise awareness and stop you from making a huge mistake. THESE REVIEWS ARE LEGIT. Decline any offer that comes your way from these lowlifes. In addition, hotel owners do not want to work with OYO due to their already bad reputation. What they offer these hotels is a joke. No one in their right mind wants to do business with these guys, so making a commission is pretty much impossible. Oh, and to top it off, if you’re lucky enough to close something, they’re constantly late/don’t pay commissions. You’ve been warned...
