Pros
Pay, benefits, and incentives are pretty good. Also, I liked working cross-functionally and on a global scale. Okta has many very capable and smart individuals around the globe. WLB was pretty good.
Cons
My manager was smart and a great individual contributor with great ideas, however, she was the worst people manager I've ever encountered. She lacked all the skills of a people manager. She provided zero direction, training, support, and guidance upon me (or anyone else from what I was told by my teammates) being brought on. I asked countless times for direction and training, however, I was told to get with other teammates, brushed off, or just ignored and left idle. I literally had no real tasks for about three months and would constantly ask around for things to do or find things to do on my own. My manager and one of my teammates were best friends. My manager would tell me to get with my teammate for training, however, the teammate was never available to train me and probably only worked an average of 4 hours per week (NO EXAGGERATION!) The manager gave her a "lazy pass" because they were friends and allowed her to not be present for work most of the time. Everyone else on team knew this but kind of just ignored it, which I learned to do as well. Once I took on tasks and learned what to do I was much more content. I was able to focus on my job and ignore the negatives. Nepotism within my team was definitely a morale killer that created a great imbalance of workloads. My manager did NOT hold her friend accountable at all. Everyone complained (even from other teams) about the dynamic, but ultimately nothing was done. I also watched my manager bully and demean a certain teammate every chance she got. Okta is a great company, but it is a bit unorganized, lacks integrated processes in some areas, and can be all over the place at times. Some managers are also bullies who hide behind titles and soft voices.
