Optum Housecalls

Pros

Salary protects your wage compared to similar per diem roles. You have total control over your own schedule Mon-Sun 8-7. Standard provider benefits such as CME, vacation, stock, health/dental/life, retirement and mileage. Sometimes they offer sign-on bonuses

Cons

Driving between appointments is seldom fun, assessment and charting expectations are not realistic. Often feel in a rush. Regularly completing notes on unpaid time. There is a bonus structure only if you complete a higher number of your scheduled visits, but cancellations occur regularly making the bonuses challenging to get. Yearly raises DO NOT keep up with inflation. Bonus pay is unreliable. Negotiate a strong initial wage.
