Pros

Job Security. Domain. Tech Stack. Good Package.

Cons

3 Months Notice Period. Expect only 75 to 80 percent of variable pay. Moderate yearly hike. (6 - 10 %). No facilities. No extra events or functions. Work and go home that's it. Worst Medical Insurance. Most sites do not have proper cubicles or chairs. No docking stations provided, each asset has to be requested and returned before relieving. Lot of work. Part of variable pay will be given as Bravo/appreciations, depends on manager. Very much like service based companies, US team will not consider Indian team as part of team as it is in most of other product based companies. It is Optum Global Solutions not UHG. You will be under Optum's payroll. Costly canteen and poor gym facilities. Facilities are just for the namesake. PEDS unit is product development unit where everything is structured. If you are joining in other units as a developer, you will feel more like a start up.

Good - a few flaws

Pros

Work life balance is pretty good, no overtime in my area allowed so my hours are strict and I don’t have to worry about working on weekends. Schedule was flexible and permanent work from home is great! I’ve been here 12+ years so PTO accrual is nice.

Cons

Pay- 12+ years and only at $20ish an hour and so many newbies get hired on at more than me, which is frustrating. It’s really hard to figure out getting more money because raises are horrible at UHG. Micro management- some of the micromanagement is over the top, especially with the some of the systems used to watch your production. Layoffs seem to happen yearly, multiple times a year, as they constantly try to offshore positions so lately having to worry about that seems to be more of a worry than normal,
